Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

Thapathali campus introduced Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering in 2068 B.S. under Department of Mechanical Engineering which is now named as Department of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering as the fourth bachelor program in campus. The numbers of available seats are 12 regular seats and 36 full fee seats as shown in table 5. This program aims to provide knowledge of classic and modern theories and systems in the field of machines, designs, management and energy and also the knowledge of existing technologies, processing and methodologies in various companies around the globe. This is more practical, projects and research based study and is required to meet the demand of growing economy and technology based modern world. The graduates in bachelor in mechanical engineering are expected to serve in energy, engineering management and manufacturing industries sector in Nepal as well as abroad and contribute in enhancement of development of new technology in manufacturing world. The first batch in bachelor in mechanical engineering is on third year and will be graduating next year.

From the date of commencement of this program, Department of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering has done and shown extensive and rigorous effort in providing time relevant quality education to the students as this department have more number of experienced and energetic faculties, well equipped workshops and updating laboratories. The problem being faced in this departments are also lack of full time faculties to deliver lectures to higher level of studies and some advanced machines, equipments and laboratories to familiarize students about the modern machines and perform practical. Campus should also recruit some more full time faculties and develop advance labs and research center to address the existing problems in this department.
